VERMONT  BUSINESS

ENVIRONMENTAL  PARTNERSHIP

Businesses and citizens in the Green Mountain State have a reputation for being environmentally motivated. Becoming a member of the Vermont Business Environmental Partnership (VBEP or VT BEP) is an excellent way to communicate that your organization shares this environmental ethic and backs it up in action and deed.

VBEP is a FREE, voluntary, environmental assistance and business recognition program offered by the Environmental Assistance Office of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and the Vermont Small Business Development Center. The goals of the Partnership are to actively encourage improved environmental and economic performance and to promote public recognition of environmental excellence.

Any business or organization may become partners in VBEP. VBEP has sector specific programs that are based on the same model, but have requirements specific to that industry. Currently there are four:

VBEP recognizes businesses as Environmental Partners when they achieve a set of eight environmental standards. Once Environmental Partner status is attained, Partners can satisfy additional, more rigorous standards to achieve status as an Environmental Leader. Leader designation reflects a higher degree of commitment to pollution prevention, regulatory compliance, and exemplary environmental management practices. Vermont businesses joining the Partnership at either level go beyond compliance with existing environmental regulations using pollution prevention strategies and implementation of best management practices.

If your business or organization is "Green" and you would like to be recognized for your accomplishments, you should join the Vermont Business Environmental Partnership.
